Now available in paperback, Ken Cooke's Stations of the Cross in full colour with readings and reflections for Lent and Holy Week. Contributors include current and former ministers of St George's, other Newbury clergy, the Bishop of Reading, Stephen Cottrell, and the former Archbishop of Canterbury, Lord Carey.
From the Launch Press Release:
"Ken's Stations have been one of our focal points in the church during Holy Week and Easter for the last decade. Since we put the pictures on our website, there has been an increasing interest from across the world in these great images - we have had requests from North America to the Middle East to reproduce them from schools, churches and even other websites." says the editor, Robert Bigg, "So we thought it was about time we created our own small book of readings and reflections that people could have and keep for years to come. We brought together some of the wider family of St George's to contribute - all the surviving vicars (covering the last 40 years), curates, lay ministers, and more widely, other Newbury clergy - the Newbury Team Rector, David Stone, Area Dean, Tom Moffatt and the Bishop of Reading, Stephen Cottrell, plus the former Archbishop of Canterbury, Lord Carey, who now lives and worships in the parish."
The vicar, Revd. Paul Cowan welcomed the new publication, commenting "This book has exceeded my expectations, and it's great to read so many different personal reflections on Jesus' Good Friday journey."
The result is a full colour 94 page paperback produced to a very high standard. "We wanted this to be as good as anything available from a commercial publisher, to do justice to both the pictures and the contributors' reflections." said Robert Bigg.
